NGTN—National Geoscience Teaching Network

Monash University School of Geosciences, as a member of the Victorian Institute of Earth and Planetary Sciences (VIEPS), is part of the National Geoscience Teaching Network (NGTN) initiative. The NGTN provides world-class education and training for students and professionals in the mining industry using the resources of a number of university geoscience departments from around Australia. All courses are delivered by recognised leaders in their particular field, whether these be from drawn from the participating universities or industry.

Monash University School of Geosciences delivers a number of short courses on geophysics. These range from practical, field-based courses, aimed at familiarizing participants with field methods and equipment, to theoretical courses detailing the physical principles underlying certain techniques. The courses are available to all interested parties—students and industry professionals alike.
